Very elegant queen anne revival rectangular stool in mahogany and dating to 1900/1910. This stool is by the renowned makers jas shoolbred & co, who were established in tottenham court london initially as drapers, growing to later become one of the very first large department stores in london to supply quality victorian furniture at the time. In this example, the seat is raised on cabriole legs with acanthus carving and ending in pad feet. The seat is fully newly traditionally re-upholstered from frame with firm hand stitched edges and is finished off in glorious perseus fabric by colefax & fowler. The stool can be used as a dressing stool or as a foot stool in a lounge/living area (see seat height).
